Aboriginal art is an expression of the artists identity, culture, spirituality and relationships to Country. It tells the artists Jukurrpa (Dreaming), stories that have been passed down through family for millenia. By purchasing art from ethical channels like Bits of Australia  you are not only providing an invaluable source of income for artists, families and remote communities, but you are also helping preserve and support this important cultural tradition.

The artist, Ritasha Nampilinpa Martin, is the daughter of Andrea Nungarrayi Martin, distinguished artist and long time art coordinator at Warlukurlangu Artists.

Ritasha was born in Alice Springs and has spent her whole life in Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal community 290 km north-west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. She attended the local school and when she finished her schooling she worked with the local Youth Program ‘Jaru Pijirdi’ helping to prevent petrol sniffing in the community.

Ritasha has been exhibiting in Group Exhibitions in Australia, England and USA, since 2005.
