The artist Helen Nungarrayi Reed was born in 1971 in Hass Bluff, a community located 227 km west of Alice Springs in the Norther Territory of Australia. She grew up in Kintore, a small Aboriginal community. She has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation since 2014.
Helen has painted a Jukurrpa (dreaming) related to water. This story is associated to a rock-hole site, Lupul south of Kintore. The Jukurrpa tells the story of the rainbow serpent travelling through the country creating large storms, with the storms the land flourishes creating the flora and fauna.

This original Aboriginal artwork is from the Warlukurlangu Art Centre. Established in 1985 Warlukurlangu is a not-for-profit organisation that is 100% Aboriginal-owned by its artists from the remote desert communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi in Central Australia.
Warlukurlangu Artists is famous for its gloriously colourful acrylic paintings. The art centre has a national and international profile and its art has been featured in hundreds of exhibitions and publications in Australia and around the world.
