The painting is titled Mina Mina Dreaming Juurrpa. 'Jukurrpa' (dreaming) comes from Mina Mina, a very important women's Dreaming site far to the west of Yuendumu near Lake Mackay and the Western Australian border.
The artist is Kirsty Anne Napanangka Martin-Brown. She was born in Alice Springs Hospital, the closest hospital to Nyirripi, a remote Aboriginal community 450 km north-west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia.
Kirsty has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation since 2005. Warlukurlangu Artists provides an outlet for Warlpiri artists to paint their cultural heritage and earn income from their work.
